The film uncovers the history and motivations of those working to ensure that people of color and the disenfranchised are blocked from the polls, and by extension are prevented from having a real voice in our government.
One solution lies in the hands of the states and their citizens. Data that was once weaponized has become the primary tool in reversing gerrymandered districts. Citizens, universities and think tanks are using open-source data to help educate voters and reverse voter suppression. But the clock is ticking, can democracy survive?
